As an Environmental Coordinator, you will ensure the effective implementation of the ISO14001-certified Environmental Management System across sites and projects in the Wallonia and Brussels regions. In this hands-on, operational role, you will drive environmental compliance, contribute to sustainability reporting, and support initiatives that promote environmental responsibility and performance.

Your Task
- Support the regional Environmental Manager in the rollout and maintenance of the ISO14001 Environmental Management System by:
- Implementing and maintaining ISO14001-compliant environmental systems across sites in Wallonia and Brussels
- Assisting with CO₂ performance monitoring and data collection for sustainability reports
- Ensuring full compliance with client, legal, and internal environmental standards across all regional activities
- Supporting tender preparation by analyzing environmental components of upcoming projects
- Ensuring alignment with environmental legislation and internal policies
- Providing risk assessments, management plans, and permit support for both new and ongoing projects
- Conducting on-site visits to assess environmental compliance and deliver training to project teams
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the environmental management system and its related programs
- Participating in internal audits and corporate sustainability initiatives
- Designing and delivering environmental training programs for staff and subcontractors
- Liaising with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to environmental laws and best practices
- Tracking and reporting environmental performance indicators (KPIs) across projects
- Coordinating site waste management practices, including recycling and handling of hazardous materials
- Collaborating with procurement to ensure environmentally responsible sourcing
Your Profile
- Degree in Environmental Sciences or a related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s level); alternatively, 5–10 years of experience in a similar role
- Proven 5–10 years of hands-on experience in environmental coordination
- Experience with greenhouse gas (GHG) management systems such as CO₂ Performance Ladder is an asset
- Knowledge of permitting processes (e.g., water discharge, excavation permits) is a plus
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation and best practices
- Skilled in environmental risk analysis and compliance monitoring
- Ability to train and raise awareness among cross-functional teams
- Proactive and organized, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in the field
