Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Structured Finance, the Senior Associate of Structured Finance will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financing strategies and structures for our renewable energy projects in the US including Solar, Wind and BESS. The role combines financial acumen with a deep understanding of energy markets, project development, and legal structures. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the fastest growing renewable energy platforms in the US!

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement innovative financing structures for renewable energy projects, such as tax equity, project finance, debt, equity, and hybrid financing solutions.
  • Analyze and create financial models for new projects, assessing risks, returns, and capital requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investors, banks, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to secure financing for renewable energy projects.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including legal and regulatory advisors, to ensure financing agreements align with industry standards.
  • Lead efforts to raise capital for projects through debt and equity financing, including structured finance instruments such as project bonds, green bonds, or tax equity.
  • Oversee the creation and negotiation of complex financing documents.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax-related guidelines, especially those that pertain to renewable energy incentives or subsidies.
  • Lead due diligence processes for new financing opportunities, assessing risks such as project feasibility, regulatory approvals, and market conditions. Identify financial, operational, and regulatory risks associated with project finance and take measures to mitigate those risks.
  • Develop financial models for renewable energy projects, assessing profitability, returns on investment (ROI), and future cash flows.
  • Stay current on market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes that could impact renewable energy financing.

Job Requirements

  • 4-7 years experience in structured finance, investment banking, project finance, or a similar field, ideally within the renewable energy or energy sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. An MBA or similar advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing complex financial transactions, including raising capital, structuring finance deals, and managing risks.
  • Knowledge of Renewable Energy: Strong understanding of the renewable energy market, including financing mechanisms, industry trends, and government policies supporting green energy.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in financial modeling, risk analysis, and familiarity with renewable energy-related financial instruments (e.g., green bonds, power purchase agreements (PPAs).
