Job Duties

  • Answer phone, using phone etiquette (Director of Safety back up and Injury Hotline), noting information, taking messages, scheduling return calls, forwarding calls, and any other tasks related to the phone
  • Take report for the Injury Hotline and sends email to dl.injuryreporting
  • Perform recordkeeping in manual, pdf and electronic database formats
  • Work independently and follow up on open action items
  • Communicate with modern data lines, Zoom Chat, email, phone, and face to face
  • Interface with vendors
  • Support Safety department by creating purchase orders for goods and services
  • Manage the Medical Surveillance Program
    • Set up required testing twice per year – mobile unit and clinics
    • Receive and records results in the employee database, advising the Director of Safety for results that are at or above levels pre-determined by the Director of Safety
  • Support the company EHS software and platforms
  • Manage the company Boot Voucher and Prescription Safety Glasses Programs
  • Schedule meetings and activities associated with meetings
  • Support corporate EHS events and functions

Qualifications

  • Employees in their position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are "grandfathered" into their positions
  • Must pass a medical physical and drug test
  • Must pass a background check
  • Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
  • Some college one year or more preferred
  • Bi-lingual, Fluent in English & Spanish, required (verbal and writing)
  • Basic understanding of MS Office products
  • Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction, written or oral and use basic math skills as the job demands
  • Self-motivated and exhibits good organizational skills

• Physical Demand Level:  Moderate
• Work Capacity: Lifting & carrying 35lb loads, bending, kneeling, and sitting for long periods.
