Job Description

  • This position is a critical role enabling client to establish and scale the manufacture and assembly of Archer Aviation's electric vertical take-off and landing (eVOTL) aircraft (named "Midnight') beginning in 2025 at Archer Aviation's all new Covington, Georgia facility (Travel to California to work with Engineering Team will be required). 

     Job Description

    The PWT Battery Process engineer will work be responsible for the design and development of the battery manufacturing processes for the new plant, located in Covington, GA.  This position will manage the installation of equipment and validation processes for operations to be transferred to the new facility in 2025.  The Powertrain Battery Process Engineer will focus on:

    • Defining battery process sequences
    • Develop process specifications for Request for Quotes (Supplier Selection)
    • Once Suppliers are selected, conduct technical and financial assessment
    • Leverage STLA manufacturing engineering network to support battery planning and launch execution
    • Work closely with supplier partners on studies, pre-acceptance conditions, shipments, technical installation plan and final acceptance requirements
    • Support plant preparation and ramp up project management plans
  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field is required
    • In order to review current battery manufacturing processes and collaborate with Archer engineers, frequent travel to San Jose, California is required
    • Minimum of 5 years experience with aviation or automotive assembly, battery, underbody process engineering, or quality is required
    • Demonstrated knowledge and work experience in battery engineering, underbody process engineering is required
    • Must possess outstanding teamwork, project management skills and interpersonal communication skills; must be able to work independently
    • Proficient skills in all MS Office Products and Google Documents
    • Candidate must be a high-energy, hands-on individual
    • Must have a valid driver's license
