As a Project Controls Manager, you will support our Project Delivery department by building, analyzing, maintaining, and evaluating project schedules in all phases of the solar project lifecycle. You will oversee schedules for multiple projects concurrently and use the schedule knowledge to update, analyze, and advise appropriate team members of the project spend forecasts. You will manage the project schedules and costs across several technology platforms and verify data alignment and integrity. You will also work closely with external EPCs, and other departments within Pine Gate supporting PMs on contractual compliance. The role will provide a unique opportunity to support active construction projects while actively gaining experience in the full project development cycle, from development to financing, with the potential to develop project management experience.
What You’ll Do
Be PGR's subject matter expert in project scheduling.
Build and maintain template schedules to be applied to projects in PGR's development and construction pipeline.
Assist internal Project Managers as they build and track project schedules.
Analyze construction schedules, helping identify risks, changes in the critical path, and other changes during construction.
Work as a key interface between PGR site staff and external contractors with respect to scheduling and contractual compliance.
Audit project contracts and deliverables internally and be a key interface on project contract obligations for legal & transactions teams.
Work alongside Project Managers to identify and report risks to key milestones based on forecasted vs actual progress.
Support budget management tasks during pre-construction and construction, updating cashflow forecasts based on schedule changes in the project contracts.
Preparing reports on project status and finances for management review.
Developing and monitoring budgets for projects based on estimates provided by project managers.
Develop and improve project controls systems.
Analyze risks and opportunities as part of risk management program.
Must-Haves
At least 5 years working with a project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent and using Critical Path Method.
At least 3 years working to support budget management.
Experience working in renewable project development or construction required.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
Education and Certifications
BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent field or 3+ years in renewable energy construction.
Working Environment and Physical Demand
Travel up to 45%
