Quality Inspector
Job Description
What will you do?
- Responsible for performing varied complex testing and /or inspection operations on units, systems, parts, or processes. Ensures that product conforms to design specifications. Spends a limited amount of time giving technical assistance, work direction and/or training to other technicians. Ability to work in Various Assigned Areas.
What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
- Performs complex mechanical and electrical tests and inspections to insure that physical characteristics, mechanical operations, and electrical functions conform to design and industry standards.
- Assesses defects and malfunctions and makes recommendations for improvement to Engineering and Management.
- Works closely with Quality, Manufacturing and Design Engineering to improve test and inspection methods and to resolve problems of manufacturing assembly and/or process nature.
- Signs all required test and inspection documents for record and approval for shipment.
- Sets up and maintains test and inspection equipment.
- Participates in scheduled meetings and the material review board.
- Willing and able to work in accordance with Lean methods and practices
- Willing to participate in continual training and willing to assist in training of other employees
- Sets up and operates complex electrical test and inspection equipment to perform complex inspections. May recommend improvements in manufacturing assemblies and processes and in quality assurance controls. Defines and recommends resolutions for specific process or design problems with assistance.
