Freedom Solar LLC is a leader in solar energy and is expanding into HVAC as a crucial part of our comprehensive approach to energy solutions offerings for homeowners. As part of our commitment to whole-home electrification, we are expanding our Energy Services team to include high-efficiency heat pump HVAC systems. We are seeking a skilled HVAC manager to launch our division, building our energy services offering that ensures optimal performance and energy efficiency for our customers.

Position Overview: The HVAC Manager is an essential part of launching our HVAC division. We are looking for someone with strong refrigeration knowledge with a deep understanding of heat pump systems, as well as conventional systems. You will play a critical role in advancing our mission to provide sustainable, energy-efficient solutions. You will sell HVAC systems, primarily focusing on air-source heat pumps. You will also work closely with our solar and battery storage teams to integrate HVAC solutions into whole-home energy systems. This role offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to move into leadership, training, and strategic development as we expand our HVAC services. Experience in team management or business strategy around scaling HVAC operations is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Sell and Install heat pump HVAC systems in residential properties.
    • Hire and manage key positions within the HVAC team as the business channel grows.
    • Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and efficiency assessments.
    • Exchange trade-related knowledge and information with supervisors and co-workers.
    • Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.
    • Accurately and honestly communicate information about products and services to customers.
    • Work with customers to educate them on system operation and energy savings.
    • Collaborate with solar and battery storage teams to optimize whole-home energy solutions.
    • Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
    • Maintain detailed service records and reports.
    • Provide excellent customer service and support.
    • Work with existing teams to build strong processes for the HVAC division (warehousing, procurement, engineering, finance, marketing, call center, ELT, etc.)
    • Contribute to the growth and development of the HVAC division, with opportunities to take on leadership and strategic planning responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

    • 2+ years of experience servicing heat pump systems.
    • Strong understanding of HVAC electrical and refrigerant systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
    • Experience with smart home energy management systems.
    • Knowledge of solar PV, battery storage, and energy efficiency strategies.
    • Experience in team leadership, project management, or business strategy in HVAC services.

Qualifications:

    • NATE certification or other industry credentials.
    • Active TDLR Certification.
    • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal).
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
