Description

Job Summary: Will assist EHS team in conducting facility inspection, audits, and record keeping.

Essential Responsibilities/Activities

  • Works closely with the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Team to conduct facility inspections and audits.
  • Recognizes and records Health, Safety and Environmental hazards at all facilities.
  • Coordinates training for Environmental, Health and Safety programs and accident prevention.
  • Assists EHS team in documenting safety-training courses, meetings and safety plans.
  • Organizes and distributes Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemical safety and communications.
  • Inspects equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
  • Reports on safety and health awareness, issues and statistics.
  • Embodies the EHS Team Vision for engagement of a corporate safety culture, which strives to educate, inform and collaborate with all levels of the AAON, Inc. organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completed 2nd year of 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety required.
  • Excellent Communication skills are required
  • Basic understanding of OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT and DEQ standards and regulations required.

Essential Mental Functions:

  • Organizational skills and understanding of methods for streamlining and automating repetitive functions a plus
  • Ability to respond to time sensitive issues with quick turnaround
  • Ability to speak to a small to medium-sized group of employees a plus

Essential Physical Functions: 

  • Requires sitting for long periods.
  • Requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary. 
  • Ability to walk through production facility for up to 2 miles. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb up and down a ladder or using steps required. 

Equipment or Software Knowledge or Skills:

  • Basic computer skills required
  • Spreadsheet software and word processing knowledge required
