Hello Students!
We are actively seeking an undergraduate 2025 LG Summer Intern to join our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Team.
Our EHS Internship is a 9-week program from June 2nd through August 1st .
The internship will be based in the office (Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM) at the LG North America Innovation Campus in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and pay an hourly rate of $25.00.
The LG Internship Program is built on the philosophy of ensuring that each intern is given the opportunity to perform robust and meaningful work while gaining real-world experience.
The program will also include each intern working on an individual strategic project for the department and delivering a presentation at the program’s end.
The main project for the EHS Intern will be assisting with developing and implementing the emergency action plan (EAP) across LGEUS to ensure compliance with each state required plan and federal law.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and ensure a safe working environment in compliance with both government regulations and company procedures.
- Tasks to include but not limited to: research applicable regulations (e.g., OSHA, ANSI) and industry best practices.
- Tailor programs to company-specific operations and risks, ensuring they align with both regulations and company policies.
- Organize and help to manage safety data sheets into centralized database as well as maintaining compliance with the Hazard Communication standard by ensuring all chemicals are properly labeled and stored.
- Conduct regular internal audits utilizing EHS software to assess compliance, recommend corrective actions, and track the implementation of these improvements.
- Assist with coordination of EHS-related Trainings.
- Assist with the NA EHS Newsletter, including the design and content.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at an accredited College/University.
- Rising Sophomore, Rising Junior in a EHS related major is preferred.
- Preferred experience with environment, health and safety related regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to work well in a cross functional/cross cultural environment.
- Ability to utilize strong analytical skills and stay well organized in order to manage data and handle multi-tasking.
- High level of functionality with data management, analysis, and tools.
- Intern will be required to stand, sit, and walk for long periods of time (e.g. facility audit may require several hours of walking)
