Role Overview
The Ironton site Reliability Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of the asset integrity, maintenance, and reliability (AIM&R) programs across the facility. The Ironton Reliability Specialist utilizes advanced reliability experience and training to maintain fixed, rotating, and electrical assets at the site. The Reliability Specialists works closely with the Reliability Engineer, Operations Leadership, Maintenance and Planning Leadership and Maintenance execution teams to both lead improvement of daily maintenance activities and oversee/execute specialty predictive and preventive maintenance activities.
What You'll Be Doing
· Utilize detailed equipment assessment techniques to review significant failures, identify corrective action to prevent re-occurrence, and refine asset strategy to sustain improvement.
· Use advanced tools such as vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, acoustic analysis, and infrared profiles to identify reliability improvement opportunities and develop corrective actions focused on delivering productivity improvement and cost reduction.
· Develop basic maintenance solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely impact plant safety, capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance.
· Collaborate with Ironton Reliability Engineer to execute the Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Program seeking ways to leverage tools and deliver value.
· Identify deficiencies in maintenance processes and develop sustainable improvements. Execute training solutions as required to capture knowledge and improve maintenance performance
· Provide reliability technical support to Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Procurement activities. Also provide training and coaching as needed to engage personnel in improved execution of AIM&R programs.
· Provide mentoring and training throughout the maintenance organization on best practices of PSM maintenance skills such a piping and pump maintenance. Serve as a quality assurance agent as required to accept contractor and maintenance performance.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
· High School Diploma or GED
· 3+ years of work experience within an industrial maintenance organization
· Knowledge of equipment design and failure modes. Experience with interpreting forensic evidence to identify failure modes.
· Experience with PdM Technologies including vibration, infrared thermography, ultrasonic emissions, oil analysis, motor circuit evaluation and motion amplification.
· Knowledge of precision lubrication and precision maintenance techniques.
· Experience with using RCM or FMEA methodologies to develop asset strategies.
· Ability to lead and actively participate as part of cross functional teams.
· Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
· Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to effectively communicate with leadership, employees, vendors, and customers.
· Ability to, on a non-routine basis, work weekends, holidays and respond to emergency callouts.
· Basic skills in basic personal computer software (Microsoft applications) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
· Ability to, on a non-routine basis, work weekends, holidays and respond to emergency callouts.
· Ability to lift, handle and safely manage items up to 55lb in an ergonomically approved method
· Ability to qualify on and safety operate mobile equipment such as fork-lifts and elevated work platforms.
Nice to Haves
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Associate’s Degree in applicable curriculum
· 8+ years’ experience as an electrical/instrument/mechanical technician in a PSM chemical manufacturing setting
· Industry certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician, API, CWI, CMRP, CRE, MLT1, MLA2, Six Sigma, various PdM Technologies
· Previous work experience and understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM)
