The Opportunity…

As the HQ Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, and facilitating the smooth flow of materials and equipment to support Grid Alternative's mission of providing affordable energy solutions to low-income families and communities. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, you will lead a team of warehouse staff and collaborate closely with various stakeholders to optimize processes and meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse employees.

  • Demonstrated success in the effective management of multiple solar warehouses.

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the HQ warehouse, including receiving, storing, counting, and shipping products or materials.

  • Manage warehouse and company physical assets including but not limited to: Solar, Electrical, and IT related equipment as necessary.

  • Oversee all purchasing activities related to commercial projects, ensuring timely acquisition of materials and services..

  • Oversee equipment purchasing for all regional offices.

  • Maintaining accurate inventory

  • Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and project teams to ensure materials are ordered, received, stored, and distributed according to project requirements and timelines.

  • Provide weekly reports and updates to the Director of Supply Chain.

  • Enforce company policies and procedures related to safety, security, and productivity.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Establish and maintain performance metrics to measure and improve warehouse productivity and effectiveness.

  • Enforces departmental and company systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organizational standards and adhering to legal regulations.

 

What you need to bring to this role...

  • In-depth knowledge of solar and electrical materials (e.g., inverters, modules, racking, electrical BOS)

  • Ability to read plans (blueprints) and use deductive reasoning to create lists of required materials for jobs.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent/related software.

  • Exhibits unquestionable integrity and work ethic.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 2-5 years or of supervisory or management experience

  • One (2) or more years of experience working with Solar or electrical equipment.

  • Certified forklift driver

  • Must possess a valid California driver's license and a minimum of 2 years driving for a company.

  • Experience with warehouse management software and inventory tracking systems preferred.

  • Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to use the computer, mouse, and type regularly.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly.

 
Where you will sit and the places you may go…
This position may rarely require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects such as company-wide celebrations, team building exercises, etc. Availability to work nights and weekends may very rarely be required.

GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ($61k-$79k annually), plus the benefits below.
