Slade Land Use, Environmental, and Transportation Planning, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer (Environmental Construction) to lead technical and engineering initiatives. This role involves translating client requirements into actionable tasks, ensuring that projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The Project Engineer (Environmental Construction) will serve as a critical problem solver, a strong communicator, and a team leader driving successful project outcomes in land use, environmental, and transportation planning.

Project Engineers oversee technical and engineering projects to assure a high level of accuracy and quality. They work with teams to translate requirements into implementable tasks with practical timelines. They also collaborate with clients to find and solve any problems in the project plans and budgeting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned technical and engineering projects.
  • Translating client needs and organizing practical terms into required timelines to be met by the team.
  • Maintaining cleanliness to ensure health and safety standards on-site.
  • Resolving any problems with the team, plans and budget to ensure that the project flows smoothly.
  • Identifying potential problems with the project, leading the team into developing solutions and ensuring that they are implemented.
  • Hosting frequent meetings with teams to build morale and inform them of their daily activities.
  • Ensuring that all legal requirements are met throughout the project.
  • Working with third-party contractors to develop viable time scales and working practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management or engineering, preferably in land use, environmental, or transportation projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to foresee and mitigate project challenges.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and interact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and project management tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of legal requirements and industry standards related to land use, environmental, and transportation projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with third-party contractors and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
