Job Summary:

The Environmental Supervisor is responsible for working in compliance with remediation and industrial maintenance projects. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols, company policies, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute fieldwork for remediation and industrial maintenance projects under direct or indirect supervision.
  • Supervise and direct project-assigned labor, including foremen, equipment operators, hazardous waste technicians, and emergency response crews, ensuring competent task completion.
  • Accurately complete job-specific documentation such as timesheets, daily work reports, driver logs, and daily tailgate safety meeting forms.
  • Enforce the project scope-of-work to maintain compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and company policies.
  • Forecast and organize the cost-effective use of project personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to control costs and improve profitability.
  • Ensure safety practices are followed by all crew members during all phases of fieldwork.
  • Work in confined spaces or areas of varying dimensions, which may require squatting and crawling for extended periods.
  • Read and comprehend safety documentation, danger placards, and site safety plans.
  • Safely operate and perform safety checks on licensed vehicles.
  • Be available for out-of-town travel for up to two weeks or more as project demands.
  • Comply with company and client safety standards.
  • Adapt to varying physical demands and environmental conditions, which may include extreme weather, exposure to hazardous materials, long work hours, and environments with loud noise or dangerous equipment.
  • Work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
  • Perform physical activities such as standing, walking, crouching, and heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds or more).
  • Remain clean-shaven at all times to ensure the proper fit and seal of a respirator when required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent reading, writing, and reasoning skills.
  • 2–3 years of supervisory experience in remediation and/or industrial maintenance projects.
  • Preferred experience in related fields such as emergency response, manual labor, general construction, or industrial cleaning.
  • Possess a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Valid Class "D" driver's license required.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) preferred.
  • Must obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and Confined Space Entry certifications within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and substance screening, including ongoing employment verifications to ensure compliance with company policy standards.
