Slade Land Use, Environmental, and Transportation Planning, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer (Environmental Construction) to lead technical and engineering initiatives. This role involves translating client requirements into actionable tasks, ensuring that projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The Project Engineer (Environmental Construction) will serve as a critical problem solver, a strong communicator, and a team leader driving successful project outcomes in land use, environmental, and transportation planning.

Project Engineers oversee technical and engineering projects to assure a high level of accuracy and quality. They work with teams to translate requirements into implementable tasks with practical timelines. They also collaborate with clients to find and solve any problems in the project plans and budgeting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Oversee the submittal process by being the main conduit between Architect/Engineer, Program Manager and Construction Manager/GC.
  • Review submittals to make sure they follow the drawings and specifications.
  • Oversee the RFI process by being the main conduit between Architect/Engineer, Program Manager and Construction Manager/GC.
  • Verifies the RFI is a legitimate RFI and not already in the documents and in compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Update RFI's to drawings.
  • Maintains the construction set of drawings and specifications by updating revisions.
  • Take meeting minutes at all OAC meetings and any ancillary meetings.
  • The main user of the program management software by updating the information and keeping all parties information flowing in the module.
  • Makes sure the monthly pay application is received and disseminated to the PM and Superintendent.
  • Walks project site daily to review work in place and check for safety issues.
  • Reviews changes for compliance and works with estimator to make sure cost is correct.
  • Prepares changes for review and submittal.
  • Prepares documents for quality inspections.
  • Prepares project for closeout by collecting O&M Manuals, Set up Owner Training, Organizing punch list with Architect/GC, and other closeout responsibilities.
  • The person who gets all documented information out to all members of the project.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management or engineering, preferably in land use, environmental, or transportation projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to foresee and mitigate project challenges.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and interact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and project management tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of legal requirements and industry standards related to land use, environmental, and transportation projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with third-party contractors and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
