About Distance Education :
Distance Education provides an entirely asynchronous, online learning experience that adapts to the unique circumstances of each student. Our fully accredited bachelor's and master's degree programs, as well as non-degree credits, empower learners to shape their own educational journey. With 8 five-week terms for undergraduates and 5 eight-week terms for graduate students, our model offers unparalleled flexibility. Students can learn at their own pace, and take breaks as needed. By using the everyday environment as a laboratory, students will integrate their studies into their daily life. This makes our education ideal for busy professionals who seek to advance their careers while still honoring their commitments. The Opportunity:
Unity University seeks enthusiastic individuals to serve as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop a program curriculum and courses related to global politics and policy topics related to tourism destination management, development policy, and political economy for the new Bachelor of Science degree in Tourism Destination Management. SMEs will work closely with the Associate Director of Sustainable Ecotourism and Recreation and the Dean of Graduate Studies to advise on and develop curricula related to sustainable and regenerative tourism, tourism development policy, and geopolitics as they relate to tourism/economic development.

 

Do you have the skills?

• Master’s minimum with expertise in environmental policy (or related field)
• Knowledge of environmental policy issues and how they intersect with various dimensions of tourism.
• Knowledge of global sustainable development goals and challenges.
• Knowledge of economic, social, and environmental impacts of tourism and hospitality.
• Experience with collaborative teaching, evidence-based pedagogy, and/or course design preferred.
• Ability to write technical instructions, such as student assignment instructions.
• Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Google Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
• Experience with online teaching and/or distance learners is desirable.
• Personal commitment to the environmental focus and mission of the University.

The Location
Unity University's distance education curriculum is 100% online. Our Distance Education Adjuncts will teach remotely.
