QEHS Manager
MIBA Industrial Bearings U.S. is a global leader in the design and manufacture of hydro-dynamic bearings. Working for MIBA, the candidate will be accountable for leading our Quality, Safety and Environmental team and system, CMM laboratory, and new product qualifications for 2 sites (Grafton, WI and Columbus NE). This position is ideally located in Grafton, WI. This role is also accountable for maintaining EHS compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The primary role of the QEHS Manager is to ensure that the sites are compliant with all Safety, State and Federal environmental requirements, and that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications, achieve expected quality and reliability levels, and support performance improvements. The QEHS Manager is accountable for the QEHS team activities, the team members development and growth, and to ensure that necessary programs are in place to reduce employee safety risks. This position has direct reports in Grafton, WI, and support the Columbus, NE’s team.
This position reports to MIBA Industrial Bearings US, LLC’s General Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
· Lead, coach and develop the QEHS team
· Responsible to lead the growth of our sites Safety Culture and associated processes
· Accountable for site Quality & Environmental Management System (QMS, EMS) and related compliance and goals achievements. This includes cybersecurity. Provide support for team member responsible to develop and improve systems.
· Monitor, analyze and continuously improve the performance of the business following problem-solving methodologies
· Provide input for Strategic focus, and priorities
· Assist in new product and process qualifications for both product performance and manufacturability
· Manage the company calibration program and is responsible for the quality laboratory & CMM
· Accountable for quality documentation expected by customers, including governments quality requirements where applicable
· Accountable for the documentation, tracking, and resolution of company incidents related to EHS to avoid recurrence and provide EHS ratings/trends
· Support Supplier Qualification and issue resolution
- Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service across the Industrial Bearing Division. Meet with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and facilitate quality problems resolution as required
- Support development of a positive energizing culture
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
· Bachelor of Science in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or related engineering field (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Preferred)
· Proven ability to facilitate teams and lead improvement projects
· Experience with Safety, Health and Environment activities and culture
· Understanding of OHSA requirements
· Minimum 5 years of cross functional experience in Quality Assurance and Operations in a high precision manufacturing setting.
· Must have solid understand of QMS Processes and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and 45001. Experience with surveillance and recertification audits expected.
· Demonstrated high metrology skills and knowledge
· Good Access/Excel experience
· Preferably an expert in Lean and Advanced Problem Solving with hands on experience.
· Ability to work independently and in a team settings.
Travel required: 25%.
