Position Summary:  

The Photo Programs, Lead is a self-motivated and results-driven individual who supports a team of photographers. Successful candidates should have a working knowledge of digital cameras and be able to provide excellent customer service. This individual must be comfortable leading a team of photographers to capture memories and sell photography products. Additional duties include driving and reporting sales, meeting sales objectives, training, and mentoring Photo Associates, and capturing excellent photos around the aquarium under diverse weather conditions. The Photo Programs, Lead will work closely with the Manager of Education and Photo Programs to grow and maintain the photography program here at Mississippi Aquarium.  
 
Responsibilities 
  1. Photo Capture 
  • Ensure high-quality photography products for aquarium guests.  
  • Assist and oversee daily photo operations including daily reporting. 
  • Train Photo Associates on photography equipment, settings, and taking encounter and/or campus engagement photos.  
 
        2. Sales
Manage operational expenses.  
  • Restock and manage inventory at the photo desk, ensuring ease of access for sales.  
  • Implement a monthly inventory ensuring accuracy. 
  • Meet monthly sales quotas.  
  • Work with the Campus Revenue Manager to strive to find fun and innovative ways to increase revenue.  
        3. Guest Experience  
  • Greet and welcome guests to the aquarium with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.  
  • Answer guest questions regarding a wide variety of aquarium topics and assist in wayfinding around the aquarium. Direct guests to photo locations. 
  • Ensure excellent customer service that exceeds MSAQ’s standards of excellence.  
  • Handle guest and staff disputes with professionalism and empathy.  
  • Work in a collaborative team environment and support photo associates.  
  • Represent Mississippi Aquarium in a positive manner by maintaining a service-oriented disposition and using superior customer service. 
  • Work weekends, evenings, and holidays when necessary. 
Requirements 
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED. 
  • Working knowledge of digital photography.  
  • Have portfolio of work to present 
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience. 
  • Must be comfortable interacting with the public and working with a team with diverse individuals.  
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to take initiative.  
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office Suite.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Organized, detail-orientated with strong interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
