About the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES): Our mission is to secure a safe and stable climate by accelerating the transition to a thriving, just, and resilient low-carbon economy. Major Responsibilities:
• Assist in the editing and design of publications
• Collaborate with Digital Communications Manager in updating the C2ES website tags and categories
• Monitor C2ES.org web content to recommend updates that reflect the latest climate news and policies
• Research and draft blog posts and talking points
• Monitor climate and energy news, drafting a periodic news roundup for all staff
• Assist with C2ES social media efforts, including suggesting news stories to tweet, drafting tweets and posts on events and papers, suggesting images
• Assist with C2ES virtual, hybrid, and in-person events
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, communications, public relations, public policy, marketing, environmental science, or related field. We can also consider students who are close to obtaining the degree.
· Familiarity with environmental and energy issues, climate change preferred
· Great writing, editing, and research skills
· Attention to detail
· Willingness to learn
· Ability to work both independently and on a team
· Knowledge of social media, graphic design, or website design is a plus.

Internship type:
- Preference will be given to local applicants. Internship can be local at our office: 1400 K St., Suite 1100, Washington, DC 20005, or remote from the following States: CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, OH, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NY, PA, TX, VA, and WA. Full-time internship up to 37.5 hours
- Full-time internship of 37.5 hours per week during Summer 2025. Part-time internships of at least 22.5 hours per week/3 days per week can also be considered (following C2ES HQ office hours).
- Hourly Wage $20.00.
- Holidays and Sick time accruals.
- Transportation stipend for interns working from the C2ES Office.
