As a Subsystems Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing processes of multiple critical subsystems within our electric aircraft. This position involves leading a team of subgroups and their technicians, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards, and collaborating across departments to achieve production goals. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable aerospace manufacturing through innovation and leadership.

- Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes, ensuring scalability and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the integration of electric propulsion and subsystem components, ensuring alignment with overall aircraft design and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and quality assurance, to optimize subsystem production and resolve technical challenges.
- Drive compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Manage resource allocation, budgets, and timelines to meet project deliverables.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, advanced manufacturing techniques, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical expertise and professional growth.
- Work with direct reports to track, analyze and improve on KPI’s for cost, quality, on time and productivity
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles, preferably in the aerospace or electric vehicle industries.
- Strong understanding of electric propulsion systems and subsystem manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in managing teams and leading complex manufacturing projects.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing tools, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent advanced certifications.
- Experience with electric aircraft or electric vehicle subsystem production.
- Familiarity with advanced materials and lightweight manufacturing techniques.
- Track record of implementing innovative manufacturing solutions or technologies.
- Hands-on experience with systems integration and testing.
- Expertise in sustainability practices and lifecycle analysis within the manufacturing process.

This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization. Some positions entail working with small parts/components. Employees must have excellent hand-eye coordination and good manual dexterity in both hands. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
