Dream is looking for Renewable Energy Manager – Real Estate

Dream Industrial’s European Asset Management Team (Dream Advisors) is currently looking for a Renewable Energy Manager – Real Estate who will be working on all our renewable energy strategies, such as solar, batteries and EV chargers in our European portfolio. The role involves a combination of financial, development and operational responsibilities to support the execution of new projects and ensure existing assets are running efficiently and generating returns.

What will you do?

• Feasibility Studies: collaborate with internal and external partners to conduct technical and financial feasibility studies on renewable energy business cases.
• Pitch viable business opportunities: Prepare and create investment opportunity recommendations based on feasibility studies and assist in pitching opportunities to senior management.
• Development of new projects: manage the development process of solar PV systems, batteries, EV/DC chargers and other initiatives, and make sure the projects are developed in line with the business case and the project requirements.
• Monitoring and Optimizing Performance: Ensuring that renewable energy assets are operating at peak efficiency. Managing O&M parties, troubleshooting, and optimization to minimize downtime and maximize energy performance.
• Financial Management: Overseeing the financial performance of the renewable energy assets. This includes financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, managing cash flows, and ensuring that the investment meets or exceeds financial expectations.
• Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks that could affect the operational or financial performance of renewable energy projects. This could include assessing market risks, regulatory changes, environmental risks, or operational failures.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensuring the renewable energy assets comply with all regulatory requirements and industry standards. Preparing reports for the asset managers to communicate with investors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders about the performance, financial status, and future projections of the assets.
• Investment Strategy: Play a role in identifying new investment opportunities in renewable energy projects and manage due diligence process.

What experience do you have?

These are some of the things we would like you to bring to the table:

• A bachelor or master degree in a relevant field of study (finance, business administration, sustainability, real estate, engineering).
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience in development and project management (experience with renewable energy is a pré).  
• Knowledge of the energy market in Netherlands is required; knowledge of markets in Germany and France is preferred.
• Commercial real estate/ property management industry experience is preferred.
• Strategic thinker and agile problem solver, while simultaneously driving a rigorous, data-driven approach to understanding the environment and driving for results.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups and good communication skills (both Dutch and English).
• Strong organizational and project management skills are required
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills. You know your way around Excel and can present your analysis in an organized and clear manner.
• Some financial analysis experience is a plus.
• Experience with (part of) the development process of photovoltaic or other renewable energy projects is an asset.
