Job Description

Schneider Electric IT Corporation seeks a Firmware Engineer in Andover, MA.

 

Job Description: Design, analyze, implement, and test modular real-time embedded firmware. Develop algorithms and implement battery management systems for Li-Ion battery. Design and implement charger state machine and algorithms for Li-Ion battery. Work closely with System Engineer to design, develop and test control systems for single and three phase PFC, Inverter, and hardware control. Contribute to system architecture and digital control loops, and develop algorithms in ARM Microprocessors. Design and Implement code for communicating within and outside products using CAN, i2C, SPI and Serial. Blend Hardware and reliability aspect of firmware with higher level software aspects. Work closely with cross functional teams like Hardware and PCB design engineers to review and develop the design validation tests plan. Create documentation, such as state-diagram of modules for future reference. Communicate clearly, strongly, and effectively to small and large groups. Work in close coordination with Global design and manufacturing centers and Corporate Technology Team. Coach and mentor new team members to learn the legacy code base and understand the sub system design and functioning. Analyze and Resolve Customer issues for Smart Modular Redundant UPS System. Develop and mature requirement for Smart Modular UPS products. Develop Communication stack for Smart Modular UPS. Architect interface functionality for several modules like External Communication Module, Events and Alarms Module, controller ARM state machine design and development.

Requirements: Position requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and experience (6 months with Master’s, 2 years with Bachelor’s) in software or test engineering, or related occupation, which must include at least some education or experience with the following skills: Programming Software using Python, C, and C++ through full lifecycle including configuration management and release using defect tracking tools (JIRA) and version control applications (GIT, Doxygen); Developing new tools using RTOS and MATLAB; Debugging embedded systems at hardware level using lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers); Standard communication protocols and microcontroller peripherals: GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART (RS-232, RS-485), CAN, PLLs, ADCs, PWM; Testing software using understanding of design requirements and preparing test plans and results documentation; Designing PCB using knowledge of hardware fundamentals and ability to read schematic and data sheets; and Working with the architecture and peripheral interfaces of ARM microcontrollers and microprocessors, including standard communication protocols (GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART RS-232, UART RS 485, CAN, PLLs, ADCs, PWM).
