Commercial Solar Crew Lead 1 - Renewable Energy
 
Position Overview
 
The COMM Crew Lead 1 is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of commercial solar and energy storage construction projects, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves supervising and coordinating the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and other personnel on-site. The COMM Crew Lead 1 plays a critical role in maintaining productivity, meeting project deadlines, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the installation and interconnection of solar and energy storage systems on commercial sites
  • Oversee and install racking, modules, inverters, combiner boxes, grounding, disconnects, and wall work
  • Ensure work performed by all is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local jurisdiction
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure project timelines are met
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues
  • Ensure timely completion of installations
  • Assist with the completion of installation reports and commissioning reports, as needed
  • Perform system commissioning and function checks
  • A solid understanding of NEC codes
  • Ability to read and understand engineering plan sets
  • Be able to create String Maps
  • Basic computer & smartphone skills required
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Requirements
  • 3-5+ years experience in the electrical trade
  • 2+ years of experience with commercial solar and energy storage systems
  • Active ET Card or Certified Electrician (General or Residential) - strongly preferred
  • 1+ years managing a crew of 2-4 team members
  • OSHA 30
  • First Aid/CPR Cert
  • NFPA 70e Cert
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Able to travel to multiple customer sites
  • Acclimate to all types of weather conditions 
  • Able to carry heavy materials and tools
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work in extreme environments (sun, cold, crawl spaces, attics)
  • Ability to work on rooftops, and climb ladders and stairs
  • Capable of performing repetitious duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
