LOCATED IN RICHLANDS, VA.

SUMMARY:

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager (EHS Manager) will lead a proactive health and safety management system, combined with strong employee engagement and an environment that fosters continuous improvement. You will provide leadership and oversight to the Environmental, Health, and Safety, EHS functions, activities, and performance for the TMC and TAC sites which encompasses three North American sites and sales & Service offices in South America. You will establish awareness, while consistently improving our preventative measures and create strong working relationships with the site leadership team. You will report directly to the Site Leader located in Richlands VA. You will be a key leader for managing sustainable health and safety programs through the incorporation of impactful operating processes. You will ensure Tadano Pan America, keeps in front of leading practices in environmental, health, and safety standards and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create, maintain, and improve a Team Member Health and Safety manual.
Deploy safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental processes directed toward preventing accidents, eliminating safety hazards, minimizing waste, and preventing pollution.
Manage any and all near misses and or accidents working with the department leaders making sure incidents are reported and investigated correctly.
Manage EHS calendar and ensure weekly, monthly, and annual communications and training to make EHS a continuous improvement activity.
Ensure compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations applicable to the local laws and regulations and in concert with the Tadano Way values.
Liaison with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders
Manage third-party contractors
Partner with site leadership to integrate a strong culture of HSE&F ownership, performance, and compliance.
Working closely with Human Resources manage Workers Comp cases.
Working closely with site safety leads to manage documentation and safety training.
Be a strong advocate for the Tadano Way
Factory responsibilities include:
- Shop-walk safety inspections
- Informal hands-on training
- Structured team member classroom training
- Coordination with local regulatory environmental agencies
- EHS Data collection
- Reporting of key performance indicators
- Mart of local operations management

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Facilities Management, Sustainability, and/or other relevant degree.
5+ years of progressive EHS experience in a heavy equipment manufacturing environment.
Experience managing driver safety program.
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.
Spanish and/or Brazilian Portuguese language is a plus
Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standards plus familiarity with DOE 10 CFR Part 851 highly desirable
Must be able to travel overnight at least 15% of the time.
Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
