PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Sustainability Manager at MGM Resorts International will be instrumental in advancing our sustainable operations program across all properties. This role will focus on enhancing practices related to materials management, waste reduction, and the implementation of sustainable event initiatives. By developing and overseeing comprehensive strategies, the Sustainability Manager will drive the integration of sustainability principles into our operational framework, contributing to MGM Resorts' commitment to environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility.

Support the development and execution of the Materials and Waste strategy aimed at significantly reducing waste to landfill and achieving our ambitious sustainability goals.
Support Centers of Excellence (including but not limited to Global Procurement, Facilities, Food and Beverage (F&B), and Engineering) and operational teams with developing tactical implementation plans on carbon, energy, water, waste, and other ESG topics.
Develop collateral on environmental-related performance and programs for senior leadership, including programmatic updates to the MGM Resorts Board of Directors and executive team.
Actively explore and pilot new and innovative waste management best practices and cutting-edge technologies to effectively reduce materials going to landfills.
Assist in moving MGM towards material circularity.
In the context of MGM’s material and waste strategy, assist in improving sustainable procurement as it relates to product packaging, recyclability, and recycled content.
Own the data reporting for the materials and waste program across the enterprise.
Represent MGM Resorts at sustainability-related events and convenings, and present at conferences to advance the Company’s position as a leader in corporate sustainability.
Support the development of employee engagement programs around environmental sustainability, including environmental education, volunteerism, and sustainability discovery.
Support sustainable events and work closely with the sales and catering teams to engage with clients, lead tours, develop content and act as a subject matter expert.
Increase event revenues by positioning MGM as a leader in sustainable events globally.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
3+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience
