Your Role

As a Climate Action & Sustainability Practice Area Leader at Gensler, you will work with a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence. You will build a Climate Action & Sustainability Team, capable of providing turn-key sustainability support to clients and project teams from marketing through post-occupancy. The primary focuses of this role are client interface, business development, team management, and technical leadership and mentorship across all areas of sustainable project delivery.

What You Will Do

Execution of a business strategy for building CASPA for Gensler’s NW Region
Market facing, focused on clients based in NW Region to grow strategic consultancy aspect of CASPA
Client Development – build clients’ trust and cultivate work through to develop additional business.
Build and lead the NW Region Climate Action & Sustainability Practice Area, working with clients to develop appropriate sustainability and resilience initiatives relating to their enterprises
Collaborate and partner with Firmwide and Regional Climate Action & Sustainability PA Leaders
Coordinate the work of multiple consultants and supervise the work of project team members
Demonstrated expertise as an internal and external leader in issues of technical capability related to sustainable design, including presentation at conferences, blogging and eventsand maintain awareness of current and emerging market analysis it impact the delivery of green building design - aware and engaged in new client innovation and technologies
Continuous knowledge sharing of lessons learned are shared across projects
Support LEED or other appropriate rating system accreditation by staff
Stimulate internal knowledge and interest in new innovations, technologies and approaches,

Your Qualifications

15+ years of professional experience in Sustainability Consulting, team leadership, and business development
Bachelor or Master’s degree in sustainable building, architecture, engineering, interiors or related field
LEED Accreditation with at least one specialty, additional accreditations a plus
Strong knowledge in building science and high-performance building systems with ability to bridge complex conversations between consultants, clients, and manufacturers
Deep market knowledge and thought leadership in Sustainability with a focus on the built environment
Strong knowledge of certifications and project management, gained through directly relevant project experience and education
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
Strong writing, speaking, organizational skills, and technical presentation ability
Proficient user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign.
Proficient user of collaboration tools including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, familiarity with Miro or similar platforms is a plus
Experience with CRM platforms (eg. Salesforce) is preferred but not required Familiarity with Revit Familiarity with building simulation and LCA software

*The base salary will be estimated between $130,000 - $190,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.*
