Event Concept have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Officer to join our team. Reporting into our Operations Director, you’ll support us in delivering on our sustainability objectives, including but not limited to, achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

Event Concept is a leading creative production agency specialising in live, hybrid and virtual event production. Our team comprises industry leading specialists across design, scenic construction, technical production and live show management.

From global brand experiences, conferences and award shows to virtual production through our in-house studios, we work with our clients to create meaningful human experiences.

Our amazing team are at the heart of business and the reason we consistently deliver excellence to our clients and continually innovate. We are looking for a Sustainability Office that shares our love for delivering exceptional experiences.

Who are you?

You have a solid existing knowledge of, and a passion for sustainability, with an interest in continual learning on evolving topics, including relevant educational background and/or experience working in this area
You are a team player with a flexible, enthusiastic approach.
You have good communication skills, both in person and in written content, to engage with all areas of our business
You’re a self-starter with a passion for driving change both internally and with our clients
You have the ability to influence across all levels to obtain buy-in
You have a good knowledge of how this topic affects the live events industry and the challenges faced
You can analyse and extract useful insights from large datasets

What does a typical week look like?

While no two days are the same the role will see you working across the following areas

Lead on the company objectives, continue to develop our internal processes to deliver on our 2030 pledge
Develop a plan that will combine broad sustainability knowledge with commercial understanding of how to incorporate this into our operations, while also ensuring that our strategy and commitments are communicated clearly across the business.
Work closely with our internal departments from operations, facilities, procurement, manufacturing and sales to deliver practical steps to ensure we are on track to achieving our sustainability goals.
Develop and manage robust data collection processes and report to senior leadership on progress.
Contribute to the production of sustainability reports.
Take ownership for training and educating relevant staff.
Support the Client Services team on the preparation of pitches and tenders with relevant data on our sustainability journey.
Own the relationship with our external offset and reduction partners
Support the Operations Director with compliance conformity specific to sustainability (ISO accreditations etc)
Work alongside our Marketing team to prepare examples of best practice to be shared with both and internal and external audience to demonstrate the processes we are committing to help us achieve our goals
Maintain advanced knowledge of relevant sustainability regulation and development, ensuring the Leadership Team is kept informed.
