ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for the custodial maintenance of the production areas, retail store, offices and other building interiors. This position is responsible for daily custodial duties as well as responding to immediate needs and periodic deep cleaning throughout the building.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines
Clean and sanitize restrooms
Empty small office trash cans
Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures
Move cabinets, floor mats, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas
Remove stains/debris from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Maintain adequate supply of cleaning products
Assure that Janitorial closets are organized and kept in good condition.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Skill and Ability: read, and verbally communicate in English; organizational skills; good time management skills, work well within a team environment; good relational skills with coworkers.
Tools, Equipment or Machinery Used: vacuum cleaner, mop, industrial scrubbing and buffing machine. Cleaning chemicals.
Minimum Physical Requirements: be able to stand and move on cement floors for prolonged periods of time; continuously lift over 50 pounds, bend, kneel, turn, lift arms above shoulder height, climb ladders, push and pull mop, broom and vacuum cleaner, push approximately 60 pounds, see, grasp tools, handle or feel objects; ability to work with industrial strength chemicals. Personal Protective Equipment Required.
