Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Hydrocarbons Global Controller Analyst and Cost Leader. This position is ideally located in Houston, TX but can currently be performed in Midland, MI or at other Dow sites in Texas or Louisiana as well. While relocation is not currently available to either location, if approved in the future, relocation to Houston, TX would be required and a suitable timeframe to complete that relocation would be discussed.

About you and this role

As a Hydrocarbons Global Controller Analyst and Cost Leader you will be responsible for providing financial counsel and support for routine finance activities including closing, financial estimate, profit plan, budget and long-term plan, to ensure compliance with company policies and SOX, effective tracking and monitoring of business performance (including cost trend, market price trend and economic environment trend), expense and capital spending, and to ensure accounting numbers appropriately represent actual business performance.

Responsibilities

Supports key finance activities, such as: closing/consolidation, inputs for Olefins financial estimate forecasting, profit planning, budget, and long-term financial planning
Partners with respective business, functions and Olefins commercial organization as part the forecasting process and related finance activities
Assists in implementing Hydrocarbon sustainability goals & work processes
M&A project support
People leadership for respective business process accountants
Provides functional support and guidance to the manufacturing cost accountants in USGC
Extracts and analyze business performance results
Ensures internal controls are robust and operating efficiently
Maintains the global ethylene cost model
Maintains the BPC HTC tool and perform monthly processing and data extracts
Facilitates periodic management reporting and support adhoc requests from business leadership
Prepares management presentations and relevant talking points
Responsible for defining the Hydrocarbons PCE (standard prices) for USGC
Facilitates intercompany pricing activities
Coordinates the roll forward ratio process
Finance representative on the Solomon cracker benchmarking studies
Owner of the LIFO process for the Hydrocarbons business

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.
A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

A degree discipline in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
Master’s degree (MBA with a finance focus)
People and/or process leadership experience
Strong communication and report writing skills
Initiative and the ability to work both independently and in teams
Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and persuade to drive results
