At Docker, we simplify the lives of developers who are making world-changing apps. Docker helps developers bring their ideas to reality by conquering the complexity of app development using containers and collaboration tools. The Environments team develops and maintains the popular open source Docker Compose project which is used and loved by millions of developers. They are also working on collaboration tools like Docker Dev Environments to help developers work together in teams.

The successful candidate is comfortable working with product managers and designers to develop, maintain and evolve product features. They have experience working on or contributing to open source projects. They are constantly seeking ways to improve the reliability and monitoring of product releases as well as CI/CD workflows to ensure they maintain a high level of quality.

Responsibilities:

Enhance and maintain open source code bases
Develop our new products
Interact with other teams within Docker, as well as with upstream open source communities and our users

Qualifications:

2+ years of professional software development experience using Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
Good verbal and written English communication skills
Experience using version control tools like Git
Experience using a CI system like GitHub Actions

Have autonomy/ownership over an area (level dependent)
Help shape the direction of Compose and Dev Environments (level dependent)
Work with other teams at Docker on delivering an end to end feature
