POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Representative –will report to the Central Region EH&S Manager and focus time predominantly in our Central Region geographic area which includes North Louisiana, East Texas, Fort Worth area, and Oklahoma, with responsibility and primary focus on production operations located in North Louisiana and East Texas. This position is a hybrid field-based role, with responsibility to direct support operations. The position will be officed in any of our selected offices including Minden, LA; Grand Cane, LA; Marshall, TX; Tyler, TX; Glen Rose, TX; or Alliance, TX.

This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, Regulatory and local, state, and federal laws/regulations and DGOC internal policies and procedures. The main focus of this job is currently related to environmental, however, experience and ability in safety and regulatory matters is beneficial.

Special focus will be placed on

Leads in the prioritization and completion of multiple concurrent projects; actively influences others to verify all possibilities have been thoroughly and effectively evaluated for optimum results.
Directly manages multiple EH&S programs in support of assets and company.
Actively supports and collaborates with operational and EH&S teams to effectively meet area and department EH&S strategies and goals.
Assesses operations for compliance with EH&S rules, regulations, policy, and laws. Develops effective solutions and implements in agreement with operations. Evaluates developing regulations and their potential effects on the business.
Possess a working knowledge of spill clean-up regulations, policies and procedures. Able to respond in a timely manner to help operation evaluate, mitigate, and remediate spills.
Performs EH&S Training
Support environmental and regulatory compliance with inspections and records.
Maintain a strong bias for action in supporting operations while maintaining a field presence.
Provide EH&S support to assigned assets, corporate programs and projects.
Perform field visits, inspections, and project management.
Build relationships and provide guidance and assistance to field operations and operations leaders.
Perform field visits to verify data, work with operations to attain compliance, respond to agency inquiries.
Solve problems with creative solutions to produce significant results.
Successfully mentor operations in safety and environmental matters.
Performs primarily self-directed in area of responsibility.

Make recommendations after anticipating work/project requirements and consider business impacts and risks.
Develop programmatic solutions to EHS issues and prepare business cases for recommended actions.
Investigate near misses, and incidents to gain learning and improvement opportunities.
Inspect tanks and associated equipment for compliance with environmental regulation.
Prepare and provide compliance training to various departments and contractors on requirements and best practices.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or a closely related field. A combination of experience and/or education will be considered in lieu of a degree. Safety experience is a plus.
At least eight to ten years of experience which demonstrates a thorough understanding of safety and environmental regulations and issues pertaining to oil and gas operations.
Demonstrated knowledge of oil and gas operations including construction, production operations, air emissions, spill prevention, response and remediation methods, working with regulatory agencies in attaining compliance with regulations.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Experience in supervision of contractors and consultants
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills to include knowledge of Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
Ability to prepare reports, exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information, and the ability to keep records, analyze and summarize raw data, to fill out and submit summary and regulatory reports.
Ability to work well and communicate with all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work on a diverse multi-disciplinary team.
Active listening skills.
Beneficial but not required: knowledge of air emissions and associated regulations is a plus.
Beneficial but not required: certifications such as REM, CHMM, ASP or CSP are a plus.
