Work Location : Delicato Vineyards Napa, Geyserville

Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Engineer conducts a variety of environmental sampling, reporting, and data analysis functions in support of multi-facility regulatory compliance assignments. Develops and implements methodologies for relevant data collection and mapping at both an equipment and facility level for all Delicato locations. Evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste and increase efficiency. Monitors state, regional, and local water related regulations and agency formation. Supports current sustainability programs and associated certifications/ communications in partnership with applicable leaders throughout the organization.

Immediately informs management of employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner
Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions

Essential Duties

Supports Environmental Manager with all aspects of regulatory compliance and program management.
Designs systematic approaches to field data gathering, analysis, and reporting as it relates to water use, consumption, conservation, and discharge.
Gather in-field data from multiple facilities and compile into one central location
Analyzes water treatment control technology for potential effectiveness, validity, and operational applicability.
Measures, analyzes, reports and communicates data/ information about environmental performance and effectiveness
Maintains accurate documentation and records management as required for environmental management system, legal, and contractual requirements

Project and assignment support to Company sustainability efforts, as may be assigned
Helps track current and pending regulatory requirements, with a focus on how enacted requirements impact company operations

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field (environmental, mechanical, civil) or environmental science/ management
1-3 years’ experience in the environmental field
Work experience in manufacturing preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Facilitating team problem solving and implementation
Organizational skills in order to prioritize and multi-task
Good interpersonal skills to deal with Plant Workers, Plant Management, Company Management, and Regulators.
Possesses basic core competency and strong analytical skills to understand the technical requirements of hazardous materials, air, water, and land systems as they relate to the abatement of pollution and compliance with regulations.
Ability to read, understand and interpret how the laws and regulations enacted by State, Local, and Federal Agencies will affect the Company’s Operations and recommend plans to implement lawful and cost effective compliance.
Skilled in technical data analysis and writing
Skilled in use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level. AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Data Management Systems training preferred (ability to apply skills visually and analytically)
Willing to continue to upgrade professional competence by attending appropriate seminars, meetings and trainings

Certificates and Licenses

Acceptable driving history with valid Driver’s License
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions

General manufacturing plant work
At times, may work in noisy, dirty and hot conditions
May be required to travel between job sites for project and regulatory support

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $63,105.12 to $98,595.12.

Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
