Job Description Summary

As a senior member of the EFS Commercial team, this role will focus on managing EFS Renewables (“REN”) client relationships for the Americas.

The Americas Renewables Commercial Leader is responsible for developing and executing a business plan and strategy that is aligned with efficient capital allocation and equipment pull-through (EPT) strategies supporting both EFS and GE Vernova; leading transactional strategy and deal structuring, developing innovative solutions that both meet customer needs and align with EFS' investment objectives and Differentiated Value Propositions in a fast-changing regulatory/industry environment. In addition, the person would also be responsible for helping develop and implement strategy to serve 2nd tier developers.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Collaborate with EFS REN Commercial Leader to provide client coverage and transaction structuring in the Americas region, working alongside a cross functional team to execute on transactions.
Foster an environment where trust, character, competence and contribution is recognized and rewarded.
Partner with cross-functional leaders on the development, growth and maintenance of relationships across the energy/power market including project developers, utilities, investors, advisors and other financial services firms, as well as within GE Vernova’s renewable energy businesses, with a view to identifying and securing investments that will deliver equipment pull through and balance sheet targets and established goals and objectives; additional responsibility to target cross-sell strategy across GE Vernova.
Identify opportunities to secure accretive equipment orders for GE Vernova renewable energy businesses, leveraging the team’s expertise and EFS’s access to capital.
Lead and inspire conceptual and innovative thinking to develop ground-breaking solutions especially as the IRA has created a significant supply/ demand imbalance, including maximizing the use of new sources of capital.
Develop and recommend innovative solutions and strategies that influence functional strategy and the risk profile of the business.
Partner with the risk team to analyze and summarize financial underwriting model outputs and financial projections with ultimate responsibility for accuracy of model results.
Identify key issues/risks of a transaction and develop structuring solutions that appropriately mitigate those risks.
Serve as business representative to GE Vernova customers, partners, and counterparts with emphasis on building customer relationships while balancing protection of portfolio.
Collaborate closely across GE Vernova to ensure appropriate client coverage.
Collaborate with EFS commercial leaders to ensure unified customer centricity and management of underwriting resources.
Clearly and concisely articulate key issues in oral discussions and written communications with senior management and successfully influence the outcome of a transaction across multiple decision makers and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent; an engineering degree with financial services experience may be considered.
8+ years progressive experience in structured finance or energy financial services industry including structuring/execution of complex financial products, capital markets exposure and significant credit exposure.
Network of relationships across energy landscape in Europe.
In depth understanding of EFS’s approach to underwriting transactions.
Experience of closing transactions across the region as principal rather than as an adviser.
Demonstrated ability and success leading cross-functional teams in an empowering and inspiring manner.
Proven ability to build/maintain strong relationships (internally and externally) while coordinating multiple tasks/priorities.
Proven experience evaluating and negotiating Project Finance documentation.
Skilled communicator who can influence a wide range of audience via balanced approach to deals and a clear understanding/presentation of risks.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
MBA Degree
At least 5 years of experience in the energy industry.
Ability to present ideas effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to other deal-team members, senior management, and customers.
Demonstrated success in directly negotiating and closing transactions.
Knowledge of GE’s total financial product offering, in addition to other financial products including loans, partnerships, and equity investments
Ability to drive discretionary effort across diverse cross-functional teams.
Experience managing key customer relationships including managing customer expectations while being voice of customer internally.
Experience managing in a matrixed environment.
