CMI Group, Defense & Aerospace Manufacturing is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist. **Offering $1,000 new hire bonus, paid after 6 months of employment.** Main location: 3617 E. La Salle St, Phoenix, AZ 85040 (South Phoenix - 40th St & Southern). Local travel to our other Phoenix area facilities will be required. Responsibilities: Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks. Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections. Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company. Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management. Monitors compliance with safety procedures. Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings. Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed. Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies. Knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness. Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required 3+ years of related experience preferred. Must be Authorized to work in the US Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Local travel to our other Phoenix area facilities will be required.
