Job description

Your mission at Climeworks is to help us refine and shape the certification strategy, ensuring a seamless connection between Climeworks certified CDR and major carbon market standards.
You are mainly responsible for accelerating, coordinating, and leading the path towards third-party verification & certification.
You establish strong collaboration channels with external advisors and stakeholders, leveraging their expertise to achieve the desired goals.
You evaluate various means, including blockchain tools, to safeguard against double counting/claiming, ensuring the integrity of Climeworks' carbon removal efforts.
You will select and execute certification options that meet the requirements of customers and financing partners, and drive the exploration, coordination, and implementation of validation and verification processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
You establish effective coordination mechanisms with external advisors and stakeholders, fostering strong partnerships to achieve successful certification outcomes.
You will serve as a go-to expert, providing invaluable knowledge and insights, particularly in the field of carbon markets, to guide a strategic approach to certification. Additionally, you will actively support operations and business teams, offering guidance and assistance in all certification-related matters.

Job requirements

You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
You possess at least 5 years of relevant work experience in carbon markets and verification/certification, including knowledge of voluntary and compliance carbon markets (EU ETS, SBTi, Gold Standard, Verra, DNV, etc.)
You have a strong track record in managing technically demanding projects.
You demonstrate expertise in designing and implementing new certification initiatives.
You possess deep knowledge of carbon markets and their dynamics.
You are a collaborative team player, able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
You exhibit strong business acumen and a practical problem-solving approach while using your excellent communication skills to engage and interact with all stakeholders.
You are known for your precise and reliable working style, paying meticulous attention to detail.
You are fluent in English and possess strong communication skills. The role involves limited travel, primarily for project reporting and stakeholder engagement purposes.
