We are currently looking for an Environmental Specialist II/III/ Senior for our Houston, TX, Jackson, MS, Baton Rouge, LA office. POSITION DESCRIPTION: In this role, you must be proficient with local, state, and federal environmental regulations pertinent to the natural gas and liquids pipeline businesses while ensuring Compliance with such regulations for Boardwalk. This work will involve being a part of an environmental compliance team that is geographically situated across our Pipeline Operations footprint. Position requires a close working relationship with Operations, Engineering, Construction personnel, as well and other members of Boardwalk and the Environmental Department. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong fundamental research skills pertaining to environmental regulations and agency programs for multiple states and at the federal level. Candidate must become familiar with and follow company environmental policies and procedures as covered in various company manuals and internal computer-based training programs. Additional expertise is required in the area of RCRA/DOT Compliance in order to help meet regulatory reporting requirements and provide support to BWP Waste SME. Specific duties include the coordination of waste sampling and characterization, containerization, temporary storage, on and off-site transportation, and on-site recycle/re-use as well as off-site recycle/disposal for multiple waste streams. Selected individual will provide presence and representation to field locations located across the BWP system, as needed. This position will require occasional remote work. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of rules and regulations that apply to natural gas and liquids pipelines Possess knowledge of chemistry and have the ability to apply fundamental scientific principles to solve problems Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to travel 25% of the time Ability to adapt to change and work in a team setting Strong research and documentation skills Ability to organize, interpret, and analyze data Computer application skills >6 years of experience in the environmental compliance field Ability work without direct supervision Valid driver’s license and clean driving record PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: Extensive technical knowledge of various environmental regulations specific to RCRA and DOT HAZMAT compliance REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or science-related field ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Boardwalk Pipelines, LP maintains a drug-free workplace and will require pre-employment drug & substance abuse testing before hire.
