About the role

This role will be responsible for leading the Environmental team in the management of fume dams, wastewater systems, furnace scrubbers and baghouses to execute safe and efficient production activities in line with the Management Operating System (MOS), weekly production planning cycle, business targets and objectives.

You will also be responsible for:

Leading and supervising the Environmental execution teams in relevant production areas (fume dams, wastewater systems, furnace scrubbers, baghouses and water chemical dosing management)
Monitoring the performance of all environmental systems / processes and escalating any non-conformance
Ensuring compliance to operating standards and executing the role of a critical control owner for each assigned Material / Risk in accordance with the Risk Management Standard
Providing input into the weekly production plan as well as the weekly maintenance planning and scheduling process
Managing the Environmental contractor resourcing and task planning
Manage water chemical dosing into scrubbers, cooling towers, shelling cooling water, thickeners
Manage the Environmental costs monthly and identifying opportunities to reduce spend when possible
Facilitate pre-start shift meetings with Environmental Operators, communicating all relevant site notices, provide shift expectations and review high risk tasks
Building cross-functional relationships to support the delivery of Production performance
The Guidance and coaching of individual team members to build a high performing team while maintaining regular check ins with individuals one on one
Manage fume dam facilities nearing end of life and become a key stakeholder into projects focused on fume dam solids reuse.

You will have:

Diploma or Certificate 4 in Environmental Science / Water Management / Laboratory Techniques or equivalent
Ability to effectively communicate and influence across various levels
Certificate of Frontline Leadership
Literacy in computerised maintenance management systems (SAP experience highly regarded)
Experience with Plant / Processing operational activities
Experience in a supervisor role, with safety focus, demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to select, develop, coach and mentor employees resulting in improved engagement, diversity and organisational capability.
