BECIS is currently looking for a HSSE Manager to join the BECIS Thailand business unit and support the company’s growth in Asia.

Objective: The key objective is to contribute to the company’s growth with high-quality and solution-focused advice to the company’s business operations as well as hands-on contract management in renewable energy in Thailand.

Responsibilities:

Establish an Environmental and Social Management System in line with the corporate ESMS and ESAP requirements, ISO14001/ 45001 requirements and reviewing the same at least an annual basis.
Develop and maintain a social accountability system aligning to standards such as SA8000 and/or ECOVADIS.
Manage the HSSE policy and guidelines, ensuring this conforms to the customer’s requirements and industry best practice.
Clear capacity to identify and manage risks and hazards for construction, and operation sites (rooftop, ground mounted and floating) and bioenergy projects.
Develop and maintain site-specific documentation and templates that include the Safety Program File (HSSE Procedure, SOPs and WIs), Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA), Emergency Response Plans, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Site Induction.
Managing the effective implementation of appropriate Health & Safety, Environmental & Social (H&S, E&S) management system procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in legislation and the customer’s directive for multisite projects.
Participates in HSSE related discussions at and Site toolbox talk, Contractor meeting, Client Weekly/Monthly Meetings, Safety Committee Meetings and Staff Meetings.
Assist, deliver, and organize HSSE training to employees and contractors.
Coordinate with construction teams and EPC contractor to assist and enhance their HSSE competency and delivery.
Perform HSSE audits and due diligence both internal & external and inspect on project construction site and operation site to verify consistency with HSSE procedural, client requirements, regulatory requirements and, contractor HSSE plan.
Coordinates and assists Site Manager with Incident Investigations to determine Root Cause and recommend appropriate Corrective Actions and Preventive Action.
Prepare and follow up the HSSE reports and records on weekly/monthly basis
Manage Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions from incident, Grievance mechanism, Environmental compliances and monitoring, Waste management and system performance.
Manage Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and coordinate these with local teams.
Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science/engineering, Health & Safety Environment Engineer, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent qualifications
Safety Expert certified by relevant ministries.
Knowledgeable in HSSE regulations, IFC principles, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and SA 8000 requirements, sustainable sourcing and GHG management.
Expert in construction safety management system especially for working at height activity & rescue and electrical safety manage
Minimum has 10 years’ experience working in energy related services and/or project construction as a HSE Manager/ Team Lead.
Passion for renewable energy and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Good capacity to train and evaluate competency of staff and subcontractors.
Candidates must be adept at using MS Office (Word, Excel and PPT).
Knowledge of the Thai language with advanced level of English, both written and spoken
Be well versed in local EHS and Labor laws and ILO/IFC requirements as would be applicable to BECIS projects.
Flexible and trustworthy.
Good interpersonal skill, Self-driven and proactive.
Cross-functional coordination capability.
Strong planning and organizational skills as well as the ability to lead and promote teamwork.
