AZRA (Allianz Reinsurance of America) is a small, specialty niche reinsurer, domiciled in California and licensed as an admitted insurer in 36 states (including District of Columbia) and is a qualified, accredited or approved reinsurer in fifteen states. What you do:

Manage a caseload of complex pollution accounts.
Timely claim management of new loss assignments and reassignments.
Develop account strategies and manage both litigated and non-litigated pollution claims.
Evaluate and resolve cases.
Provide defense counsel and vendor oversight based upon an agreed litigation strategy.
Identify appropriate cases for early resolution.
Understand coverage issues and formulate complex coverage decisions.
This position will report to the head of Pollution Claims.

What you bring:

Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of progressive pollution claim handling experience and/or related insurance coverage legal experience.
Strong technical background desired with an emphasis on coverage issue identification and policy interpretation.
In-depth knowledge of liability policy language and coverage interpretation.
Ability to provide guidance, input and oversight to defense counsel.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Work experience in a highly regulated environment and ability to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Strong writing, analysis and problem solving skills.
College degree

Range $70,000 - $120,000 (pay band minimum – pay band maximum)

Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
