SUMMARY

The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for tasks in a wide range of environmental, health and safety fields to achieve compliance with the organizations EHS standards and with regulatory requirements. This position will plan, direct, and implement organization safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment within two facilities, including flammable process areas, manufacturing and production equipment, and product development (R&D).

Duties and responsibilities

Communicate current EHS issues to the staff through weekly EHS reports.
Respond to customer inquiries concerning hazardous materials in finished products.
Generate and maintain all product Safety Data Sheets.
Corporate reporting into web-based data collection systems
Air Quality Permit Condition implementation.
Wastewater Discharge Permit Condition management.
RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Program implementation.
SWPPP program management and recordkeeping and training.
SPCC program management and recordkeeping and training.
Tier II determinations and annual reporting.
TRI determinations and annual reporting.
Manager OSHA recordkeeping and posting.
Occupational health monitoring as needed (air monitoring, noise monitoring).
Implement internal EHS management system.
Implement risk assessment and job hazard analysis.
Respiratory protection program administrator, including training and fit testing.
Maintain emergency response resources.
Manage and inspect fire extinguishers, eye wash and shower drench.
New Chemical Approval, Approved Chemical recordkeeping.
Hazardous Waste Determination and hazardous waste profile generation.
Dangerous Goods/ Hazardous Materials Shipping; determination of shipping requirements for Product Development samples.
Performs forklift and walk-behind lift equipment training.
Maintain EHS Training Matrix, schedule training, and deliver EHS training.
Complete personal performance measures (EHS KPI) and report performance to leadership team.

Excellent time management and work efficiency.
Dangerous Goods Shipper Training within 2 years preferred.
RCRA Training experience preferred.
Forklift Training experience preferred.
Understanding of air permit conditions, O&M Plans, and corresponding recordkeeping and reporting.
Understanding of wastewater permit conditions and corresponding recordkeeping and reporting.
Bachelor s Degree in Environmental Health, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business or related curriculum or equivalent experience. Certification by recognized professional bodies preferred (Board of Safety Professionals.) Coursework indicating advanced professional development.
Minimum of four years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of HSE processes, procedures, and methodology.
Administrative experience related to safety management for facility operations management, including training, scheduling, auditing, reporting.
Demonstrated experience in employee coaching and training.
Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors & employees.
Experience and knowledge of ISO 14001/45001 preferred.
A self-starter motivated to excel; seeking continuous improvement and engagement with staff to achieve best practice EHS programs.
Knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation/regulations, fire code.
Knowledge/experience in emergency response procedures and first aid.
Experience in developing training programs.
Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

May be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
Ability to Stand, walk, sit, use of hands to handle, feel, or grasp objects, tools, or controls.
Reach and lift with hands and arms; lift/move/carry objects up to 25 lbs. in weight as well as move 55-gallon drums of chemicals, hazardous waste, or used oil with drum dolly.
Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
Ability to talk and hear for safety on the production floor.
Visual ability to see things in close vision, distance vison, color vision, peripheral vison, depth perception and ability to adjust focus as needed.

PAY

$85,000-$95,000
