About the Role

Located at Loy Yang Power Station

In your new role of Asset Engineer, you will provide technical support for asset management activities to optimise the life cycle cost, improve efficiency and minimise the environmental impact. You will identify problems and use your engineering knowledge to identify causes and deliver solutions. You will also coordinate technical investigations of plant failures and unplanned events to identify improvements and prevent recurrence.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Manager, Electrical & Controls, you will be responsible for:

Development of asset management strategies, maintenance plans, scope plant integrity inspections and evaluate potential improvements and provide technical support for coal fired power generation equipment
Manage the Engineering Change process
Provide technical and commercial evaluation to assist in developing the Capex budget
Fault finding across the Generator and Auxiliary systems
Defining outage and project scopes
Project management of smaller projects
Ensuring that HSE goals and systems and AGL values are adhered

About You

You will be a qualified Electrical Engineer who has received or is eligible for Professional Engineer registration in Victoria. You will have experience working in asset management within power generation or heavy industrial facilities with high reliability requirements, high value assets and safety standards.

What you’ll bring to the table

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
Eligibility for Professional Engineer registration in Victoria
Experience working on coal fired, gas turbine or hydro generator equipment
Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
An understanding and commitment to HSE requirements
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and disciplines
Experience providing technical investigations using root cause analysis / ICAM
Advanced problem solving skills
