【Main Role】

Contribute to establishing the license to operate through the World Without Waste (WWW) Vision (Sustainable Packaging Strategy 2030) and consolidate the competitive edge of the System in the following ways:

Develop annual plan/mid- to long-term strategy and promote/support execution of actions in each of the WWW pillars.

Sustainable Materials for packaging
- Collaborate with various System stakeholders to develop Bottle to Bottle (B2B) recycling targets and aligning for execution in defined timeline.
- Develop/support deployment plan of sustainable packaging products by collaborating with Marketing Team.
- Work closely with the bottling partners monitoring progress in supply/capacity of recycled PET, etc. and ensuring necessary volumes are available for deploying sustainable packaging products.
- Gather information related to new technologies in the sustainable packaging spectrum (mechanical and chemical recycling, biomaterials, etc.) in a systematic way and contribute to the refinement of packaging strategy development in the mid- to long-term.

Collection
- Develop targets for annual collection of post-consumer PET bottles and enhance execution through available schemes.
- Investigate and establish collection scheme of non-recyclable packages as part of the objectives to make “all packages recyclable by 2025”.
- Support PACS in promoting packaging collection toward 100% collection of sold packages in 2030.
- Support closed-loop collection scheme for other types of packaging.
Recyclability
- Promote System alignment on the deployment of alternative packages/ commercialization to meet recyclability targets.
- Study and propose alignment with other peer companies and industry.
Reduce / Remove
- Enhance light-weighting by supporting Packaging/Commercialization Teams.
- Support the introduction of package-less initiatives.
Governance
- Monitor the food grade compliance of PET bottles including recycled resin.
- Ensure data collection related to all WWW KPIs, including data submissions to the central team and local stakeholders.
- Participate in global workstreams, such as the Global Environmental Council (GEC), to follow up on new priorities in packaging sustainability.

【Key areas of responsibility】

Create and align strategy around the WWW targets with all System stakeholders.
Support the improvement of profitability through WWW.
Orchestrate Japan Coca-Cola network and facilitate working groups related to WWW.
Ensure all KORE WWW requirements are met.
Ensure OU governance is in place and in line with the global governance framework requirements, including data reporting and management.

【Qualifications & Requirements】

Experience in project management involving multi-functional teams.
Experience in coordination and consensus-building among teams with divergent point-of-views.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Public Affairs and Communication.
Excellent language abilities in both English and Japanese.
